Dreams, Details, and Discernment: September's Mystic Astro Report
FORWARD FOR MY READERS
Try as I might, this report did not make it out on time with my ambitious deadline! Being a new mother has so many perks (namely giggles and cuteness), though timeliness is not one of them. However, I’m choosing finished over perfect, “perfect” to me being “on-time and well-edited.” I still managed to get it out before the Solar Eclipse in Virgo + Autumn Equinox, so I’ll take it as a win! Anyway, sometimes I think astrology reports are better understood (and therefore more pertinent) in retrospect anyways. Maybe it’ll help make some sense of the past 3 weeks for you. Enjoy!
September 2025 — Mystic Astro Report
September hosts the Autumnal Equinox, marking the balancing point between the Sun and the Moon’s prestige. It’s a threshold month, ushering us from the heat and vibrancy of summer into the softer edges of autumn’s embrace. We reap the harvest of what we’ve taken the year to sow, give thanks for all the abundance that was bestowed upon us, and glean the lessons from where we were not as fortunate – whether by chance or by consequence. September, though dominated by the scrutiny of Virgo, meets the diplomatic understanding of Libra, creating a portal that allows us valuable insight about the year thus far, bringing all that information into the last quarter of the year for reflection, processing, and digestion.
Astrologically speaking, September 2025 is enthusiastic about change. We’re already in the eclipse portal, nuanced by the Nodes of Destiny on the Pisces/Virgo axis, signifying a crucial point of release and surrender of the year.
By the 6th of the month, all outer planets will be in retrograde, pulling back the reins to slow us from a gallop through the open meadow down to a calculated plod through uncharted, and unfamiliar, terrain.
Saturn makes his last visit to Pisces, polishing off his epilogue until he returns in another 27 years or so, emphasizing the consequences of our choices during his initial charge through Pisces that began in March of 2023 and concluded in May 2025.
And not to be ignored, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius are in a major aspect to one another during this eclipse cycle, demanding change and radical liberation in the aspects of our collective and individual lives that are keeping us from stepping into our true power. But, ever the benefic with an endless supply of optimism, Jupiter in Cancer sprinkles his wisdom in the eclipse-mix to remind us that whatever is being eclipsed out of our life is only making room for something much, much better.
Eclipses
Pisces and Virgo is the axis of compassion, service, and devotion. These sister signs show us what it means to really give ourselves over to something greater than ourselves, whether that may be a higher power or a worldly issue.
Whereas Pisces meets us in the unknown and the unknowable, Virgo keeps our feet planted in the evidence and the facts.
When the Nodes of Destiny meet these signs, there’s an issue raised of where, and to whom or what, are we giving ourselves away so desperately that we lose ourselves in the process, and what we need to embrace in order to let life lead us in the direction of our collective and individual spiritual truths.
The first eclipse in September’s cycle is a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, happening with the Full Moon on September 7th. This eclipse is influenced by the North Node (Rahu) and gives us spiritual insight into the direction our individual soul and the collective journey is headed. Rahu in Pisces shows us that the only option forward is to surrender to the unknown. There’s no longer any room for how we think things “should be” and instead we must allow our intuition to guide us in a way that inevitably will not make any rational sense at first.
Instead of simply just “trusting the process,” we will be required to dissolve our sense of identity, release our perception of control, and buck the plans that keep us tethered to a false destiny.
On September 21st, The South Node (Ketu) siphons out anything that is no longer bearing fruit in our lives, including belief systems, behaviors, circumstances, relationships, and more, asking that we “take the best and leave the rest.” It’s the Solar Eclipse on a New Moon, arriving to illuminate and expose just what exactly has to be left behind so we can finally have that new beginning we have felt coming for some time, though have been letting ourselves get lost in the weeds with the “how.”
Meeting the medicine of Virgo, Ketu is like your mother-in-law that can’t help herself but to start tidying up your house, sweeping out the cobwebs, rearranging the furniture, and scrubbing the baseboards. Clutter, whether real or imagined, emotional, mental, or physical, easily exceeds the threshold of tolerance. With the South Node here, we are meant to resolve and rectify the past of anything that is keeping our energy stuck in cycles of toxicity, over-giving, or self-criticism. Our past no longer gets to define us, though the process will take some serious deep-cleaning.
Both of these eclipses are under heavy influence from some of the most influential planets in our solar system, though we can be grateful that they seem to be arriving as allies rather than adversaries.
Jupiter, the planet of expansion, abundance, wisdom and blessings is nestled right in the heart of Cancer, its exaltation. In Cancer, Jupiter brings ardent importance to matters of the home, family, roots, ancestry, and the archetypal mother. It expands our ability to nurture, to care for, to find the wisdom of the heart and let it be the source of unconditional love that brings us home. With these eclipses, Jupiter makes harmonious, positive aspects to the Sun and Moon, giving us a burst of optimism, letting us believe that everything that transpires within the eclipse portal is all in the name of that homecoming.
If Jupiter is expansion, Saturn is his opposite medicine, ruling contraction. Saturn represents consequences, discipline, obstacles, restriction, and ultimately self-mastery. In addition to his retrograde back into Pisces, the Lord of Karma also has a hand in these eclipses, however he won’t interact with them directly. Instead, his influence marks anywhere we haven’t fully completed our lessons in order to fully resolve the past and embrace the future. He’s sitting at 29 degrees Pisces (the anaretic degree) in a positive aspect to Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, both at the first degree of their respective signs – which are in a major aspect to one another as well. In essence, we’re being asked to examine the necessary changes being activated in our lives that are emphatically trying to move us out of our previous way of existence and into the next.
There is an unyielding and provocative determination here from the celestial bodies to surrender the plans we thought we had solidified for our lives and be open to a total reality shift into new, surprising, yet terrifyingly unfamiliar territory.
Changing Signs – Planetary Ingresses
This month, we’re only seeing one outer planet change signs, and that’s Saturn moving back into Pisces. Saturn in Pisces represents the uncomfortable yet absolutely necessary process of creating the strong foundations we need in order to build the life of our dreams. His retrograde motion is a chance to revisit his 2.5 year cycle where we learned how to create, and hold, boundaries around things like substances, dreams and fantasies, institutions in which the individual is lost to the collective, and our own psychological realms.
Saturn is known as the Lord of Karma, so his final movement into Pisces is inevitably going to be a punitive reminder of the consequences of where we failed to hold these boundaries, build adequate systems, or show discipline in the face of our aspirations. This is our last chance to course-correct in these areas, and failing to do so may bring us another 27(ish) years to re-learn the lessons again.
Virgo gets stacked with more planets this month in addition to the South Node.
Mercury arrives in his exaltation + domicile here on 9/2 to rewire our mental capacity for organization and planning in the face of change, then transitions into Libra on 9/18 to romanticize our lessons learned and create poetry out of the rubble.
Venus enters Virgo on 9/19, where she will spend some time in her least favored sign. On the challenging end, we may find that our relationships, self-worth, value and sense of beauty can turn overly critical or lean too far into perfectionism tendencies. However, we will also have the opportunity to, once again, tidy up these areas of our lives. We may feel more inclined to tend to our earthly vessels with more care to raise our self-worth, take a hard look at our budgets to cut frivolous spending, and put the kibosh down on any relationship dynamics, habits, or energy-suckers that muddy the waters of our lives.
Mars, the planet of masculinity, conflict, progress and aligned action enters his domicile of Scorpio on 9/22. Mars is one of the modern rulers of Scorpio, and in this sign, has the power to decidedly drive passions forward, under, through, or over by any means necessary. If we’ve been waiting for the spark to incite us into action, we’re likely to get a good fuse lit during this period.
Lastly, the day after the Solar Eclipse on September 22nd, the Sun moves into its fall of Libra, signaling the release of the Sun’s energy with the autumnal equinox and the welcoming back of the dark part of the year. We find a natural inclination to balance, harmonize, and beautify our environments as the year turns the corner to the final quarter.
Transits to take notice of this month
9/4: Mars in Libra square Jupiter in Cancer – Resentment shows us where we’re not holding our own boundaries when it comes to how we want to be in relationship with others.
9/8: Moon conjunct Saturn in Pisces, then immediately Neptune in Aries – Yearning is our heart’s way of pointing us in the direction of our purpose.
9/12: Sun and Mercury in Virgo sextile Jupiter in Cancer – Synthesis comes from the ability to align our values with what makes us feel cared for, by caring for others.
9/13: Sun-Mercury cazimi in Virgo – Expect flash of insight; a plan dawns and suddenly we know what needs to happen next.
9/15: Venus in Leo sextile Mars in Libra – Declare how you want to be loved and you’ll take nothing less. Yourself included.
9/17 & 18: Mercury in Libra opposite Neptune, trine Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius (at 1 degree) – Start writing your redemption story, but make it poetry.
9/20: Venus in Virgo square Uranus in Gemini, Sun in Virgo opposite Saturn in Pisces – Something’s gotta give, and the only way to do it is to breathe new life into it. You get nowhere if you believe the lie that you’re stuck and there’s nothing you can do about it.
9/23: Sun in Libra opposite Neptune in Aries, trine Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius – There is the “knowing” mind that can see circumstances from all angles, and then there is the unbridled subconscious mind that reminds you that it’s all illusion anyways. Trust that the wind is blowing you in the direction of your new beginning.
9/24: Mars in Scorpio square Pluto in Aquarius – Recognize what’s holding you captive to the old paradigm and destroy those fucking chains. Use your teeth if you have to.
