Mala Magic: What Makes Them So Special

I know many of you have seen me post mala necklaces for sale, and it occurred to me that although they are beautiful, they are so much more than just jewelry to me. So, I thought I'd share about why they mean as much as they do!

First, malas, also meaning “garland”, are traditionally used to count mantras in meditation. Each of my malas are tied with 108 gemstones & their respective knots to represent the Vedic sacred number of 108, plus one “guru bead”. This number is significant for many reasons, but is thought to represent the whole of existence. For example, the average distance between the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth is 108 times their respective diameters. Here’s a great article to go farther in depth into this topic.

I string each bead on the mala with a prayer, intention, or affirmation that is channeled through. I am in an active meditation while I create these pieces and they receive my whole attention. At the end, I use a programming technique called ThetaHealing to "lock in", or energetically program, these stones to carry these affirmations and resonate the resounding frequencies.

When I say that my malas are “channeled” through, I mean that I am actively receiving intuitive information from the stones, my Higher Self, and the Higher Self of the person this mala wants to assist. It amazes me every time - I will find that intentions and affirmations that pop into my mind are correlated with the recipient’s current life circumstances when they reach out and tell me, “I feel like this mala is for me because…” It is a beautiful reminder that we are more deeply connected than we realize.

The way I create these malas is deeply intentional. I have worked with crystal magic since I can remember (and lifetimes before that), so I feel as though I understand the frequencies on a soul level. When I pick stones, I lay them out in a grid to maximize the potential energy, intention, and potency of their magic as they work together. Gridding is a powerful way to tap into the energy systems of our universe and crystals, in my opinion, anchor these energies in a way we can utilize them here on Earth. It’s almost as though I can hear how the stones “want” to be represented. Some stones have dissonant frequencies from each other and they certainly let me know, whereas others seemingly magnetize to each other and resonate well.

I feel as though these malas come through me because they are like little healers, ready to go out into the world and belong to their chosen human in order to assist them in these interesting times we are living out. They graciously volunteer to aid those in need.

These malas are so special and doing such important energetic work on this planet right now that I feel both honored and humbled to be their “bEarth mother” as I like to call it. If a mala calls to you, or you feel called to a commission a mala, please reach out and let’s create your very own talisman for support and crystal magic!
