India Calls...

On my Yoga Teacher Certification graduation day in the Lakshmi Temple, seated next to Lakshmi. She is the goddess of abundance, prosperity, and beauty and is the focal point of Diwali Festival of Lights in India. 

I can count on one hand the number of times that I have had my breath taken away by an idea that popped into my head. One, was when I decided to take my Yoga Teacher Certification. Another, when I created my wellness business, Celestial Sisters. This time, it was India that has called to me.

I have been intrigued by India since I was a little girl when my mom gave me a book about Mahatma Gandhi. I don't remember why, but when I learned about him and his quest for peace, I felt like I needed to go. Later in life, I tried to do a foreign exchange program with a girl in India, and again, it was not the right timing. Now, at 22, I am called once again to the vibrant country and I won't let any doubts interfere with my journey. 

India calls to me now with its ancient sacredness. I feel deeply that this place has a piece to the puzzle of my life. In fact, as the Universe's way of guiding me there, right around the same time I was reminded of my desire to travel there, I found out a friend from my yoga teacher training was organizing a yoga retreat to Rishikesh (one of the holiest places in the country) for November 2018. 

Again, to make the call louder, I was chosen as one of two recipients for a scholarship for this yoga retreat, cutting my cost significantly. As a practitioner on scholarship, I will be studying everything my mentors organize for this trip so that in the future, I may lead others on a spiritual quest in a faraway land, too.

So now, I come to you, a friend or family member, as another reminder from the Universe on how supported I am with this endeavor. It humbles me to ask for any donation, but I told myself that I would not ask for a single penny until I had manifested my deposit of $500 on my own - which I have actually surpassed that goal.
